 Pattern for coasters

I used cotton

it makes them easy to wash

when you spill your drink on them!!!

:)

make a magic ring

or

 5 ch

join to make a ring

ch 3

1dc in ring

ch 1

make 2dc cluster

(make a dc but don't finish it

make another dc

don't finish it

you'll have 3 loops on the hook

yo and pull through all 3 loops)

ch 1

and continue around

until you have

8 dc clusters

join

slip stitch into ch 1 space

ch 3 and make 2dc in same space

3dc in next space

and all spaces around

join

ch 3 and make a dc  in next dc and next dc

ch 2

make 1dc into each dc below

with a ch2 inbetween

join

slip stitch into the middle dc and

make ch3 and 1dc into the middle dc of row below

ch2

make 2dc in same place

ch 1 and make a sc in ch2 space

make 2c ch 2 2dc into next middle stitch

and continue around.

join at the end and fasten off.

and there you have it,

now make as many more as you need

and  keep your fine furniture

clean and dry....

Today I would like to present some of the lovely things that have been posted in the

Motifs and Embellishments Group

After futsing around for quite a while

I figured out how to make a little mosiac of just a very few of what has been put in.

I closed my eyes and randomly clicked

not an easy thing to do!!!

and here is what I came up with....

1. filigree vessel shadow, 2. Arctic hexagons, 3. Artsy Crocheted Basket, 4. Crocheted Radish Brooches, 5. Lampshade crochet, 6. Attic24 inspired crochet, 7. love bow, 8. crochet leaf

Now that I know how to
expect to see  more

the Group is now 107 strong
with over 400 photos
not bad for just being a month old
HUH!


So here's to all the hookers
who hook away
at home
post the beauties when they're done
and they won't feel alone
put them in with all the rest
and

 sit back and admire
then get the hook a'flyin'

update on Svana....

I've heard from my "Icelandic friend"

Svana

who sent me the beautiful beads a while ago..

she has posted a few pictures from

Norway

here

and sent me a couple of emails.

So far it looks good!

Her children have started school

and after a few

expected problems,

they don't speak Norwegian

and very little English

and her little ones

have to ride in a car on bumpy roads

for quite a way and they aren't used to it

so one threw up the second day..

you know

kid things!!!

and they aren't used to the house yet and wake up at night

so she is a little tired....to say the least!!!

but it all seems to be working out

and settling down.

She wrote to me today to ask for a pattern for some coasters she wants to make

so she is feeling the urge to make new things for the new house!!!

and she tells me that her son LOVES the pillow I sent her

and takes it to his room to "snuggle whith it"!!!!

How sweet is that.....

yes there is one on the hook already!!!!

YEAH!

It has been

DARK

so very dark all day long

and it's rained since last night

yeah!

just like late fall

I have been trying to figure something out

and if I do I'll show you tomorrow

I got frustrated with it

so I looked around to see what needed doing

and the kitchen needed dusting!!!

Oh the excitement is overwhelming isn't it!!!!

So I set about the chore

and

moi being moi

I rearranged the bits and bobs

and took a picture

coz...

I got nothin'

This is on top of the micro.

I have a teeny tiny little house with no

storage or cupboards or

architecture whatsoever

so I make do...

it so feels like fall today

I got the colours out

and

made

me a little vignette!!!

This is a sweet little tray my sister

gave me that she didn't use anymore

I don't drink tea

but coffee for thee

works too

That plate I found in an old junk shop

years and years and years ago

and still love it

so I stuck that up on the wall

and

that's it!!!

It's so gloomy I'm making

baked macaroni

and we'll have fruit for pudding as the Brits say!!!
