it broke the freezing mark

 

just for a little while today..

we rushed out to get a few supplies

as it's going back down again

 and

 I wouldn't want to be caught without

certain items that make me glad to be alive

coffee

 tea

and

 chocolate

without those I am not worth knowing

we did get a couple of other essentials that will hold us together

but those were first on the list

 

so let Jack Frost return

I will lift my cups o' hot steaming liquid

 and

 toast him with a square of

chocolate

and when I smell the

hyacinths

 that suddenly bloomed here in the warmth

and stunk up the place

 I will tell him that soon he will have to leave

....because Spring is soon here

 

 

 

 

Please let Spring

 be soon here?!?!

the yarn is so fine and delicate it would be a shame to tie it up in anything else other than fine delicate knots

some of you will remember that when we were here last

well. last before last...

the work du jour 

was the mohair shawl

a little worse for wear

the water level came back up a bit 

thanks to the storm we had last week

but we could use lots more

I know

some of you have had enough 

but we haven't

the geese were off somewhere else

and the ducks were too far away to be able to see them properly

but we have a few who come by every so often

not like they used to though

it's a beautiful autumn day here

the woman on the radio has just declared this day the first day of Spring

it is half past noon

the sky is blue

the air is warm

and there are white fluffy clouds

as you can see

Clouds

are the subject of the day.  I stepped outside a while ago and discovered it was almost warm! The storm we were supposed to get hasn't really arrived as described, but we did get rain overnight, and now it is bright and shiny and cloud-filled. One of the reasons I have my camera is because in days gone by I would stand and look at the clouds floating over us and mutter, wish I had a camera, and now I do, and this is what I wanted it for.

I do not pretend to be a photographer, but I love these snapshots.

The blue and white sky is just lovely.

It is windy, so the clouds are scurrying by and changing shape and form as they float over me.

I love the wind, the warm and the fluff.
