I'm bored!!!

On the fourth day of the
New Year
I feel very restless
I want to clear the house
throw it all outside
hose it off
spruce it up
paint it
cover it
re-cover it
re-stuff it
un-stuff it
change it all around
and put it all back
in different places
I want to turn our bedroom into the living room
I want to clear all
and I mean all
the junk
unwanted
unloved
useless
bits
and
pieces
out of
roomontheleft
re-paint
buy a new bed
cover it in quilts and down pillows
get a bigger desk
buy more storage
to put it all back
in an organised
sensible manner
where
 when I want something
need something
I don't have to go through
umpteen boxes or bags
looking for it
I want turquoise paint on the walls
and off white furniture and trim
I want pretty curtains at the window
a fabulous squishy carpet on the floor
with an old hooked rug on top
a comfortable chair
that has pretty cushions on it
a little table next to it
big enough to put a couple of books and a cup of coffee or tea
I want to house all my little bits and bobs on shelves
and make it look like a designer came and did it
but they made it look like I had done it
almost like the make-up artists who spend hours
making you up to look like you aren't wearing anything
!!!!!
I want the living room re-arranged
to be cosier
another chair to sit crossed-legged in
wide enough to hook or knit
without the needles getting hung up
a coffee table that isn't covered with yarn and books and cups
more surfaces to put stuff on!!
re-painted and re-furnished
a new kitchen
with cabinets that look old but aren't
a new table and chairs
more counter space
all new dishes and bits
more storage
a lot more storage
new bed linens
and
lots of fluffy white towels for the bathroom
another bathroom
all white
and new
wood floors throughout the house
covered in yummy carpets
and a cat that won't pee on them
I want to keep the cat
always and forever
even when she pees on the freshly laundered rug
:(
:)
but
I'm a realist
and not one of these things will be done
except one or two tiny things like
cleaning the
roomontheleft
and
putting it all back where it fits or belongs
I have NO pictures to show
there is nothing to shoot
it's cold and grey outside
it feels cold inside
because I am sitting here
lamenting
for no reason
other
than
I'm
bored!!

Are you?
and if yes
what do you do to get out of feeling like that??
See ya!!
:)

  1. I know just how you feel. It's as if you want to jump out of your own skin! When I feel this way I start to clean and go mad at it and it usually ends up that I sit back pleased at what has been accomplished and I'm back in the swing of things. Right now I'm going to head out into the cold air to get some chores done and
hope that may invigorate me. I loved your post!

  2. When I was younger, I used to do one of three things when I was bored: move all my furniture around, buy lots of new clothes or get a new haircut. Now when I'm "older" (guess 34 is no age to complain about) I... hmmmm... I don't really know. Go around complaining with a grumpy face until I find some smaller project to throw myself into, I think. Repainting something, reorganizing somewhere, or something like that. Looking around internet to find something NEW to do. Hope you find something that satisfies you!

  3. I feel exactly the way you do! Although I think I'd like to just toss everything and have an instant new house, as I am bored with everything in mine!! I have so much to do, like finish taking down Christmas decorations, pay bills, clean, re-organize, do the laundry, etc. But all I can do is sit here and play around on the computer... no motivation at all! Maybe I'll go take a nap!

  4. OMG! I feel the same way! I'm on vacation (day 5) and haven't accomplished anything. My cat didn't pee on the rug, however I left the dryer door open and he took a pee on clean clothes! Lets hope it gets better.
    Have a great year!
    Hugs,
    Jess

  5. You know what I call this - the Christmas Sugar Let Down blues.

Which I am currently suffering from (and also that I turned 50 today), but the Christmas sugar certainly has something to answer for.

I LOVED this post, seeing as yesterday I pulled everything out of the craft room/spare bedroom, only to end up making a bigger mess than when I started.

so much to do, but can't seem to do it (but I did paint my front door on new years eve)

    Brilliant post,

    Cheers

  6. :) Every holidays we used to change all the furniture in our rooms around and clean the house from top to bottom. Now that I have my own house, holidays come...and I find myself doing the same thing. My mother thinks it's hilarious and evidence that she trained me well!!

  7. Love your picture and love your post! My Mum used to tell me about her Mum, who when she felt a bit down, used to go out and visit someone worse off. When she came home they were feeling better and so was she. Mia S.

  8. You're singing my song, baby. 'cept the cat part. My bulldog would have none of that. (or all of that..nom nom)

'Tis the season for change, it's just too bad we can't do it all at once. Or maybe that's the way it should be.

  9. except for the turquoise walls, and wood floors (these we already have) i have very similar dreams !!! even about cats that won't pee (anywhere else than the litter box or yard)

why don't you pick just a few that would make you happy ?
