have a good laugh...

at this

holy crap look at these!!!!
I was looking for something else and bumped into this lot
polymer clay days
beads and bracelets and dangley bits
OH MY!!!
seems I was learning how to make
swirls and feathers and jungle type things
I do remember a friend asking me to make her sister,
who lives in the Yucatan,
some jewels with a jungle theme
well that's what I understood she wanted
her English is no'so goot
and she did like what I made and actually wore it a lot
but I don't  really know why I still have these
I do also remember learning how to make the feathers
that was fun and interesting
like so many things
it sits in a drawer now

this is what I was wanting to do the other day so I did
a tiny hexagon
double knitted

done on three needles
:) :) :)
well, not quite like that!!!!
:) :) :)

so  I practiced on bigger yarn and bigger needles
and I made one
well two if you count the little one too
it's so nice to know I have learnt something over all this time
double knitted
making a smooth edge that way
neat stuff

 and in between times
doodling on the cover of a small canvas so as not to mess the canvas up
may just put that on the canvas now I see how it looks

so that's all the crazy there is today

the temperature is going up into the
hi 60's
it may break the records
they say it may go as high as 68F

61 F is
16 C

spring like
and in 48 hrs it will be

in the words of Johnny Carson?

wacky wacky
the temperature rose over night
as the winds blew in from the West
bringing rain and thunderstorms with it
we had a squall come through  at around 8.30 a m that turned it black outside
and it was gone as fast as it had come in
then the sky started changing by the minute

love looking at the sky
hope your sky is worth a look today
now the temperature is
and will continue to all day long
wacky wacky
they said it's the warmest winter in history
don't think they are too far off this time!
but it's only
we still have a long way to go

so get an idea/pattern stuck in your head
work on it a while
knit yourself a little rectangle

sew up the bottom third of it

find some fabric that kinda sorta matches/compliments
and make a little lining

put a little pocket or three in it
to put
stuff in
needles and pins
and scissors

or even your pennies
for a rainy day

and as they say .......
somewhere out there
you have yourself another little
made of
hounds tooth check
that has finally
moved itself out of your brain
so you may now move on to other

see ya!!

weird and scary

this is what was outside today
many buzzards
in the trees

on top of the trees

high in the sky

circling round and round

and round
they weren't in the woods or on the ground
but as
husband said
many eyes in the skies
looking and watching
they all suddenly rose out of the trees
and that's when I stopped clicking
they look hungry
and mean
and vewy vewy scarwy

but it sure is pretty up there
all blue and white and shiny

with the silhouettes of the naked tree
and the patterns the branches make

or the sun shining on the very tippy tops

the poplar trees
showing why they are also

tulip trees
all of last years flowers are still up there

translations...or lack thereof...

"But then, she had a singing where genius washed everything, strengthened it and put the band on a part and then arranged her over a curtain rod in his Office"

"It is a long time now that I crochet clearly this bag. It has been empty and lacking in a bag while waiting for the upholstery of several months.
Shame on me not arranged before hihi"

"4th row:

Crochet 1 semi hard arc in the resolve.

Crochet 3 resolve, crochet in the same resolve arch 2 sticks,

hook in next resolve arch 3 sticks,
hook in next resolve arch 3 sticks 2 resolve 3 sticks (angle),
* hook in each of the following 3 resolve bogen 3 sticks,

hook in next resolve arch 3 sticks 2 resolve 3 sticks (angle) *.

Repeat between * and * 2 x.

Crochet in the last unloading arch 3 sticks,

connect with ae 1 half fixed on top of the stick"
just three I came across today
most of them are unintelligible
maybe we should hire the "Stepford Wives" to make a list of words that can then be loaded
and speaking of the
 Big G
something must be happening again
because everything is falling apart
can't comment
pages don't load properly
or at all
they are shutting down Picnic on Flickr
soon it will all be one big
G up
maybe it's time to look at other blog sites
Oh well!!

another day...

You "guys"
you're so sweet and such a cherry bunch to have around
a girl can't be bored or blue with you
comments and messages and e mails
pictures to look at
photos pinned to your boards
 or just a sweet word

thank you
I not bored no more

it's still cold and grey and gloomy

(that is now all ice and crispy crunchy)

but it's a new cold grey and gloomy
so we'll make the best of it
and just enjoy the
feel of it all
don't have to cook today as I did it yesterday and the day before
so it's leftovers
or you're on your own
I like it when I don't have to cook!!!
and then other days it's all I want to do
 cook everything in sight
do you do that?

I have given up on the wip
the knitted one
the yarn is just horrible so I'm going to start it with another yarn
and this is
the most important thing
I won't have enough to make it worth the frustration
it will be too small to be of any good
so we'll put it down to
that was a practice one
no griping about it
practice makes
yes it does!!

so I've dragged the bins into the living room
brought out the note books
that have notes
I can doodle in

will fire up the kettle in a while
and work on the
hooked wip
it's slowly growing in length
and it's still keeping me happy!
(phew!  she said, no griping about this one)

but my new love keeps rearing it's pretty little head and calling to me
houndstooth design
I found one to copy
and copy I shall

here is a swatch I made 'coz
 I couldn't not made it
if you know what I mean
it's time to go and do something constructive and then settle down
ignore the gloom outside
and get stuck in
and tonight is
Downton Abbey
so all is well with the
here at the
hope it's the same in yours

stay safe and warm
and thanks for
cheering me up

and just a note...
the colour in last night's photo
was as it appeared
I didn't change anything
it was as they say
(straight out of the camera)
I waited a bit too long to take it
but imagine it even more rosy
incredible what the light and air do

the above photos were taken on the phone
a little bit of adjusting was done

boring day

cold and grey and just blah...

and quiet

 and then this happened
