another weekend...

and this is what my phone said when I woke it up
hope your morning is
goo
too!!!
husband also pointed out to me the other day that I can talk to my phone
no not someone ON my phone
but TO my phone
hello phone
please tell me the
Weather
and it shows me the
Weather
it doesn't talk back
yet
I don't think anyway
but that's OK
I've had enough back talk

(and yes I usually just look out of the window to see what the weather is!!!)

:)

someone we all know
and love
(Andigal
 has been showing us her
stash
ooh!!!!
xxx
she can knit socks like there is no tomorrow
and if I wore socks I would have her knit me some
lots
tons
isn't she lucky I don't
wear socks
:)x
so I thought I would show you some I have recently acquired
that I just love
it's another funky chunky monkey
and it's just such fun
got it yesterday so I've only started three things to see how it works
and frogged them all
just practicing

do you do that with new yarn
just start something randomly to play with it

like this other stuff I got
it's so soft and squishy and feels so good
so I got needles out and somehow remembered how to
in the car on the way home!!!!!

and then while looking at some very french blogs came across
a pattern done entirely with
it took a second or two and it made sense
it was code for this!!!!

I like the entrelac the best...
so we'll see
thick squishy wool worked in spring
makes sense

and the fan and feather
who remembers
but it's done too
long and lovely

and another yarn I got that I didn't show you
'coz I haven't been around
this is a
that is
ALMOST done

I'm going to see if this works as an edging as I have run out of yarn
the light is once again rubbish so the colours are off
if not then
it's done!!!

funky shquishy shquashy chunky
yum

and this blast from the past
it was done ages ago but I never taa daah'd it
it weighs a ton and is very very warm
I used it once when it actually got cold
the one day it did this winter!!!!

and with the other ball of this colour that I had
another one of these
that I don't wear
so I have a pile of them now!!!!!
a quick and easy piece that is missing it's edge but it won't take long to finish
I changed it somehow and just kept going!!!
I predict who will take this the next visit!!!

and should she show interest in picking up the needles
I found some for pennies on sale
with all the dark yarn I seem to have using the pretty wood ones from Knit pick
makes me blind so I got these as they are white-ish and I can see the stitches so much better

so there we are
a weeks worth in one posting
should have cut it up in bits and made you think I was really really
getting them done
zing zing zing
you know all blog perfect
and blogalicious
read another rant about why bloggers pretend all is well and perfect
and don't show the reality
sigh!!!!

what I REALLY hope is that the people who won the
mother of all jackpots
put all that money to good use
and don't waste it on rubbish
did you know that within five years of winning huge amounts
most of the winners are broke and OWE money
it shouldn't be allowed!!!!!
apparently 3 tickets showed up as winners
in different states
mind boggling

have a goo one peoples

:)X

  1. Do you read knitting instructions in French? That's cool! They didn't teach me that in school, so many lessons I had in so many languages, and not once did they tell me anything crafty... :) I love all the things you've been making, and yes, I do like to play with my new yarn too. Unless it's that kind of yarn that won't let me frog it, and I have to cut it off and through it away... :( I have a whole bunch of cotton balls waiting to become a bag, that I would love to play with. But I guess I'm stuck with my daisies for a while. One or two threads per day... At the most! :) I'll try to have a goo one, and thank you for cheering me up a little! xxx

  2. My days have been so busy that I haven't had time to visit like I want. I hope all the health problems are the kind that can be fixed with change. You are always creating something lovely with hook or needle. We are on Spring Break so I have free time, but today was spent mostly cleaning and rearranging the tv room. Why does organizing always seem to create more of a mess and less space when you move stuff around. Such a process. Hope your weekend is a good one. Tammy

  3. I kne yo woul be up to somethin bu ha no ide it woul be so beautifu!
Husband has a phone with an owl in it that hoots at him when he looks at the weather. I do too - (hoot at him that is!)
I have been thinking "socks"! There was one ball of hand dye effect by Kaffe Fassett left "on sale" which is now a thing of beauty on the table beside me waiting to be made into a thing of even greater beauty one day hopefully.
There was also a "chunky monkey" in slate blues and greys which says it will make a scarf, but for an adult it looked a bit narrow, so may be best for a child.
Entrelac is on my list of things I should try one day, but I doubt I'd get away with it in the car! Personally I prefer the xo's. The feather and fan is so pretty. Love the infants cardi on that feather and fan site.... and a shawl, so delicate, and the beautiful purple scarf - lucky visitor!! And some bargain needles. What could be better!.. and I appreciate having it all in one glorious hit!! Thank you! Mia S

  4. P.S. I knew a family that won and lost a fortune - poor parents of a boy in a school I worked at. The only thing they had left after a short time was a camper van. Everything else was the same or worse than before they won.
I'm not sure I would appreciate a big win. It would be such a responsibility. Not likely to happen anyway as I have never bought a ticket :)

  5. I just love all these yarns your playing with. They do look squishy & soft. Very nice patterns to work them in too.
