removed ....

I have taken down the tut for the block I saw
even though I know it isn't an original design
because I have seen that particular block in very old books
I don't want to start something
with anyone
I got a couple of comments that I didn't post
which tells me someone got upset
so down it goes
anyone can duplicate the block if they want
I just won't be the one to help them
sorry but it's only fair
I suppose
:)

  1. Wise move but back to the old chestnut about ownership.
Somebody on Etsy is selling PDFs of granny squares with the provision that squares made from the pattern are not sold for profits.
    Mmmmmm?

  2. I just don't get it. Crafters do the same stitches all the time. What's the big deal anyway. It's all hogwash to complain and try to claim stitches.

  3. I'm not getting into it with anyone over this silly question. :) This block has been around since the beginning of time...it isn't a new design, I'm actually looking for it anywhere the 'net will take me...I will hunt it down and find it and if you know where it can be found, please tell me and we'll settle this question once and for all.
    thank you!!!

  4. Wow, The first comment I started to write ended up being a big rant about copywrite law. I get so tired of pattern writers bulling people when they are so wrong! So I decided to post it on my blog rather than bog down your comment section. If you would like to hear my thoughts you can check them out here http://mickchick831.blogspot.com/2012/02/another-debate-on-copywrite-law-sigh_23.html
