new shawl...

that I absolutely love

and for those of you who've been here a little while

that's rare for me to say about something I made

I showed you the yarn a

 little bit ago

and didn't like any of the play things I did

and then

while browsing through some sites

 and old files on the computer

I bumped into this

and thought it was nice

coz it's simple

I didn't do it exactly as they did

which is me being me!!

   

I changed the number of open work rows to just two

 

they did four

and in the end I added an edging of my own

I made it up as I went around

!!!!

with some yarn I have sitting in a bin doing nothing

 the yarns are both merino wool

but different!!!

husband said it looks like a sunset

so I took it outside in the noonday sun

and

snapped

hope it gets cold again

really cold!!!!

you can see what a pretty day it is today

but it is so very very dry

we are on a red flag alert thingy to watch out and be very very careful of fire

there are fires burning up and down the east coast and that isn't normal as we are usually on the wet side at this time of the year

 there are morons who throw cigarettes out the window or burn leaves without a thought

living in the woods can be

vewy vewy scarwy

no matter how many times you try to explain

squirrels moles voles and beavers...oh my

I missed a whole bunch of stuff by not

going out there and snapping

but it sure is growing fast

this makes me mad

a beaver seems to be

taking the

very loud and yellow bush

since I took that photo last week or whenever

half the bloody bush is gone

don't know where they think they're building a dam

but they come and take a branch or two and disappear

with all the trees and bushes and plants they have to choose from

they choose the

very loud and yellow bush

expletive deleteds

  all is not calm on the lake

if I see the buggers

I will not delete the expletives

they will go home shocked that an old lady knows such language....

so I thought I would show you some I have recently acquired

that I just love

it's another funky chunky monkey

and it's just such fun

got it yesterday so I've only started three things to see how it works

and frogged them all

just practicing

do you do that with new yarn

just start something randomly to play with it

like this other stuff I got

it's so soft and squishy and feels so good

so I got needles out and somehow remembered how to

entrelac

in the car on the way home!!!!!

and then while looking at some very french blogs came across

a pattern done entirely with

x's and o's

it took a second or two and it made sense

it was code for this!!!!

 I like the entrelac the best...

so we'll see

thick squishy wool worked in spring

makes sense

and the fan and feather

feather and fan

who remembers

but it's done too

long and lovely

and another yarn I got that I didn't show you

'coz I haven't been around

this is a

 shawl

that is

ALMOST done

I'm going to see if this works as an edging as I have run out of yarn

the light is once again rubbish so the colours are off

if not then

it's done!!!

and this blast from the past

it was done ages ago but I never taa daah'd it

it weighs a ton and is very very warm

I used it once when it actually got cold

the one day it did this winter!!!!

and with the other ball of this colour that I had

another one of these

(scarves)

that I don't wear

so I have a pile of them now!!!!!

a quick and easy piece that is missing it's edge but it won't take long to finish
I changed it somehow and just kept going!!!

I predict who will take this the next visit!!!

and should she show interest in picking up the needles

I found some for pennies on sale

with all the dark yarn I seem to have using the pretty wood ones from Knit pick

makes me blind so I got these as they are white-ish and I can see the stitches so much better

so there we are

 a weeks worth in one posting

should have cut it up in bits and made you think I was really really

getting them done

you know all blog perfect

read another rant about why bloggers pretend all is well and perfect

and don't show the reality

sigh!!!!

what I REALLY hope is that the people who won the

mother of all jackpots

put all that money to good use

and don't waste it on rubbish

did you know that within five years of winning huge amounts

most of the winners are broke and OWE money

it shouldn't be allowed!!!!!

apparently 3 tickets showed up as winners

in different states

mind boggling
