oh damn, it's pretty out there again...

it was dark in the roomontheleft this morning
even with the curtain open

and very very cold
sleet and freezing rain fell all night and then it started snowing
we had snowflakes outside

and inside!!!!!!

cold winds

and very hungry birdies
lots of them

I threw some seed on top of the snow for those that don't eat at the feeder
"cold enough for you Mrs dove>>>"
yes Mr sparrow...did you see the brass monkey???

so tired of it all...

"his holiness" flew in and took over the place
the way he does

but the little ones were so hungry they dared to share the feeder
and he let them

a very unusual occurrence

you can see how much it's snowing now

and the wise one donned his cap and grumbled a little more..
because he wasn't inside enjoying the

the fresh bread and beef barley soup with the humans

or able to share the warm blanket that is coming along

slowly but surely!!!

a gaggle of goslings...

there is no light today...
  NONE...again

but it doesn't stop them from wandering around stuffing their little faces full of spring time growth
look who got close enough for me to shoot them from the window.....
(which is why some of them are blurry...
guess it's time to clean the windows ...again)

...in the camera sense that is
two families
getting on well enough
now
to let the
lil'uns feed together
 all mixed up and sharing

there was a lonely goose off to the left side who wanted in on the fun and togetherness
but one Papa Goose would have none of it
I tried to get the action but the trees and the quick movement made the photo too blurry to see

you know if we protected our children like they do
we would never have wars or terror or hardship
EVER....

if you notice
there is always one with his head up watching and looking and protecting
from human... animal or one of its own
the babies are oblivious to what is going on around them
until the tiniest of noises from the parents sends them running

now...
how the hell they know who belongs to who
is
the mystery that is
Nature

after some rain

it's been raining around here quite a bit
and it is very welcome
we have a drought already so any rain is good
no hummers as of yet but it's all ready for them

in fact it rained so much the night before last
there were floods just up the road a ways
as they say

water half way up the cars in some spots
that's just silly
too much isn't any good
but I think it's all gone now

the lake is nice an full too
I'll show you later maybe

so in between showers yesterday
I took a little walk in the front
and took a few shots of what's there

mountain laurel is almost over already
the bush is getting so big it may have to be pruned
husband planted the trees way too close and now the bush if fighting for space
it's the only plant left from when we came here
eons ago
its very very old
as are we now!!!!

this is
sooc
straight out of camera
the light was just like this
lovely!!!

everyone is up and growing finally
it's all getting so big and jumbled
just like I like it

yes he is still here
standing guard on the flower

so that's it for today
what it looked like yesterday
wet and green and jumbled
just like I like it!!!
