the one who sits and "spins" the blocks into

a warm hug

well,

she's on CNN

in the ireports

they contacted her and asked if she would show the blanket

she put together for the

Royal Wedding set

here is the report

and she's also been featured in a couple of crochet magazines

we are all so proud of her

but she would tell you

that without the "sibolettes"

she wouldn't be able to do this

well

I don't know about that

but it sure makes a difference

to have help from all over the world

just wanted to share this

another week's end

GOSH

where do the weeks go

is time moving faster

or am I so old now

it just seems to whizz by

don't answer that!!!

I haven't posted for two days

not sure why

Yesterday we went outside and did a little gardening

husband mowed the beautiful field of flowers

which makes me very sad

but it has to be done at some point

and after last year's wild meadow

he wants to catch it before it gets too much again

I picked up all the sticks and limbs and branches that had fallen because of all the storms and high winds

and pulled those ..... weeds called

ENGLISH daisies that spread like the dickens and drive me crazy

and they share their pollen freely too

but it's all done now

until the next itme

and as always

I'm the one that has the

encounter with a

snake

it was in a patch of long grass and violets and thank goodness I saw it before I plunged my hand in and touched it

eeeewwwwwwww

I did what I always do

stop

shiver from head to toe

yell for the husband

who can't hear me because he has the mower

and run

which is a sight to behold in itself

and yell

there's a snake

a snake

a

shut it off and you'll hear me

a SNAKE

and he does what he always does

tells me to take care of it

and then asks what kind of snake it is

....

this one was dead

don't know why

so he picked it up with a shovel and threw it in the lake

another thing we always do

feed the lake

!!!!

and no I didn't run inside and grab the camera

to take a picture

eeeewwwwwwww

!!!!!!

I have also been busy over on the other blog

trying to bring it all together

and finish the first installment

my partner in this little venture

has also been busy inbetween living her real life

so I hope you go and visit her part too

there are links on the side to her part

I can't tell you how much fun it's been

and I think I will continue it for awhile

making little tiny things is for me

even if I give myself a headache and eyestrain

but it's inventive and creative

and

I like it!!!

I'm using all the things I've learnt this past year

and it's so nice to know how to do things the proper way

...

this little fellow has a dirty face because it keeps raining

and the temperature can't make up its mind

80's one day

50's the next

beautiful blue skies one day

grey overcast gloom the next

today it is the latter

but the rain is good for the plants

they are popping up all over

and this years' crop of

sedum

looks good!!!!

well, have to get to making dinner

the pictures and reports of the damage and destruction

from that storm that passed our way

are heartbreaking

so many dead

so much sadness

and the weather people keep saying there was something "unusual" about this one

it's just so scary these days

as these storms seem to be getting bigger and bigger

and the power that drives them is

awesome

but..

...

humanity always stands up and somehow keeps going

neighbour and stranger

neighbourhood by neighbourhood

help comes with chain saws and trucks

coffee and water

hugs and a shoulder to cry on

tears and smiles

and bit by bit

piece by piece

they pick it all up

and start again

no matter where it is

..................

Yesterday was a completely different day

weather wise

the sky was clear   the sun was out   and the breezes were cool

I sat outside

with my needles and wool

and soaked up the

 gorgeousness!!!

When there are no flowers to look at

take last years trendy pillow out with you

and

sit on it!!!

and some of that

and I had myself a couple of little goodies

show you later!!

This morning I got a

 BLUE SCREEN

and it interrupted me

so while the geek squad of one

chased the problem

I went outside to see what I could see

I saw

the first lily of the valley

a little (?) rain

and up jumps the fern

then it was cat food getting time

and I found three more

and the Easter Bunny won't have to bring any candy to

house

!!!!!

soggy saturday....part 2

when last I left you

I was planning on sorting and tidying

and I did

I put the music on and I cranked the

yarn winder

and I found an empty box

which in itself is a miracle

and sorted and tidied my little heart out

big sigh

but it kept raining and thundering

and the music kept me going

a mixture of oldies but goodies

Temptations....Bruce.... those hilarious '80's ....

the songs I mouthed  to at school  with two of my friends at some silly party they made us have

and Indian chants and sung prayers to the morning

I like variety!!!

and then I did this

I got the other stash out and started something I've wanted to try for a long time

and now they have the brainless easy-peasy way to do it

the Tornado Warnings went up

Severe Thunderstorms and Flash Flooding too

you know the usual for a Saturday Afternoon

the wind picked up and it thundered a little

and then

the sun came out

and  that's when it came down

in buckets

while the sun was shining

the sky light

  in our room

rivers ran through

sheets of water hit the windows

and the sun kept coming in and out

stranger, weirder, more bizarre by the day

buckets......

when it died down a bit

I grabbed blue and out we went

down to what is the

ditch

used to be a little stream before they built the roads

this is a big drainpipe that carries the run off water to the lake

you can see the rubbish it carried

other people's rubbish

great!!!

looks like somebody needs to

put their stuff away

three balls

mine, when the water goes down

so that's how my day's been, so far

now it's all quiet calm again

but I found something

pretty

to end with

....

of course I did!!!

the storm is gone now

and so am I
