I really love your shawl, Marilyn! It looks amazing! Prettier than mine. :) And I haven't even finished it yet... Made the loops so small it takes for ever. I just asked about the English name of the stitch on Flickr, but now I know. It's hard to stop making shawls in this stitch once you've started! :D Always fun to spread some inspiration!Nilla Khttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01983395733450033267noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6101369128236864337.post-21369895005820715892011-05-15T15:37:38.870-04:002011-05-15T15:37:38.870-04:00That is a beautiful shawl. We turned a bowl upside down, covered it with vaseline, so as to be able to slide the finished article off easily, and pasted on layers and layers of postage size pieces of soaked newspaper, a few layers each evening, and let them dry out overnight. Then we painted and varnished them. I was only about 7. I painted mine white with gold holly leaves and gave it to my teacher for Christmas. She seemed quite pleased! And your shawl is absolutely beautiful! I don't even know what that stitch is but if Debi and Teresa think it is hard, then I probably would be hopeless at it.
